I knew it had been some number of weeks since my last journal entry, but I was shocked to discover I had stepped away since February! Not counting my May 25th featured post, my last journal entry was written back on February 19. That’s a few days shy of a six month lapse! Truth is, my idea file currently contains twenty-six feature length topics in the area of technology. There is no shortage of topics for me to write about. I suppose that is partly why I’m here tonight. Writing things down helps to bring me peace of mind when my brain feels cluttered, distracted, and anxious.
Presently, I feel like I’m wasting too much of my free time simply sitting on the sofa and mindlessly scrolling YouTube videos. I start out with good intentions to sit and watch a video or two on topics like amateur radio, or linux, or woodworking. Somehow, those darn stupid “shorts” (short-format videos) keep showing up. I’m continuing to work on bringing more balance to how I spend my free time. I want to be “doing” more than “watching”. I’m more than half serious when I say I’m 80% convinced my next mobile device will be a Jitterbug flip phone.
